Message from Exec. Headteacher

Last Friday was a day to celebrate, Sir David Attenborough’s 100th Birthday! Not only does he have a wonderfully calming voice, but his curiosity is what has made him the man he is today. As a school and as educators it is that curiosity that we all should be nurturing and encouraging our children to hold on to, so that they can explore, learn and educate themselves in so many different ways. Sir David learnt all he knows about the World around us through pure curiosity and exploration. We can explore and be curious around any number of topics and those who choose to be curious and explore are the most successful in everything that they do. Nurture and encourage curiosity, don’t give the answers, let them explore the answers.

Our Year 6 children have completed their SAT’s this week and we are all very proud of the resilience they have shown and effort that they have put in to their work throughout their primary school years. They have much to look forward to but of course the learning will continue, so that they are ready for their transition to secondary school. Well done Year 6 and thank you to all the parents for their support and commitment to their children’s education.

We are once again looking for Parent Governors across the Federation and I will sending out application forms and voting forms over the next few weeks. Please do come in and speak to me about the role and the expectations of commitment. Your support and representation of the community is valued and we welcome those who are committed to making a difference to the children across our Federation.

Please use the link here:- PARENT SURVEY to complete a short parental survey, as we strive to continue to improve and listen to what you have to say as parents.

Encourage curiosity, exploration and celebrate all that we have learnt about our planet today with Sir David.

Acheivements 👏👏

On the 6th of May, Ella (Heron class) and her sisters were invited to the University of East London to meet Princess Catherine to speak about her new project “Foundations for Life: A Guide to Social And Emotional Development”.

The Princess was very interested in understanding how mothers get advice and support throughout motherhood and we spoke about the importance of making strong attachments and connecting with our children.

Ella and the Princess spoke about their love of reading and Ella’s favourite part of the day was modelling the technology that the University uses when carrying out their research including a heart rate monitoring vest and head camera, to the Princess. She said it made her feel like a real scientist!
