Hawk Class @FP News – D&T: Designing & Making Bags
Hawk Class have been busy learning all about designing and making bags in D&T. We’ve been thinking carefully about our users by asking: What do they like? What type of bag do they need? What features will be useful? How can our design be functional and appealing? The children have practised important sewing techniques, including: running stitch, cross-stitch, and blanket stitch. They’ve learned how to follow a seam allowance to sew neatly and why products are often turned inside out to hide stitches.
It’s been fantastic to see their creativity grow as they design, test (prototype), and improve their ideas. We’re excited to continue developing our bag designs!
