Welcome to week three of our classes learning. This is the second week of us reading the fantastic book by Annabelle Sami entitled ‘Llama Out Loud.’

“This story is about Yasmin and her Llama who comes to life.” – Royce.

“Yasmin Shah gave up talking when she was three years old.” – lyin.

“We have already covered predicting and clarifying.” – Andreas.

“She hit the Llama with a tennis racket out of the window.” – lasmina.

Year three and four have been looking at the purpose of writing and how we write at Forster Park. Our first writing project was a picture book which we shared with Year One and a memoir (memory) about a strong emotion felt. Check out our work in the pictures. We have now started a new writing project called ‘The Natural World.’ The final outcome will be a poem all about nature.

“We went outside to get inspired and get some ideas.” – Oke.

“Using personification, we wrote sentences about nature. The angry sun beamed at the Earth.” – Komarly.

“In the air, the helicopter seed flew happily across the park.” – Oliver.

Starling Class have been introduced to numbers up to 10,000 in Math. It’s all about place value this term. 

“We have represented and partitioned numbers up to 10,000. I have used counters, dienes and number lines.” – Gbopemi.

“I looked at intervals on a number line and Mr. Braganza showed us how to calculate the different numbers.” – Aaliyah.

This term in Geography is all about growing, producing and farming food around the world and in the UK.

“We have been able to locate the different areas of farming in the UK. Arable farming is on the flat land.” – Jahdain.

“Livestock is using animals like chickens, cows and sheep. I like eating eggs.” – Raphael.

Up until Christmas, we will be studying the Vikings.

“The Vikings came from Sweden, Denmark and Norway.” – Darrell.

“We have looked at maps and seen where the Vikings invaded the UK.” Henry.

“Check out our Vikings shields which represent all about us.” – Lilly-Rose.

In PE, we will be learning football and gymnastics.

“We climbed up the climbing frame and I jumped down safely. Landing jump is arms straight and legs slightly bent.” – Ziyaam.

“I cartwheeled over a bench with the safety of Ms. Swain.” – Malika

Our RE learning is all about Sikhism. 

“We learned about the last guru called the Guru Granth Sahib.” – Damla

“This guru is the holy book and is used for the teachings of Sikhism.” – Jessica

This term is Art, we are looking at the artist Guiseppe Arcimboldo. We first drew and painted our faces in the correct proportions.

“I painted my face peachy, yellow and its on display in the class.” – Linh

“We did our faces.” – Ipek

Its about about humans including animals in our Science learning. 

“The molars usually chew and grind food in your mouth.” – Alice

“Tigers and wolves usually have canines and incisors to rip the flesh.” – Stephanie
