Summer is Here!
With the warmer weather upon us, we would like to ask for your support in helping to keep our children safe and comfortable while they enjoy their learning at school. To help us during the warmer days, please remember to:
Academic Review Day
Our Academic Review Day will take place on the last day of term, Monday 20th July. Further information, including appointment details, will be sent home next week. Academic Review Day is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate your child’s achievements and progress throughout the year. We are incredibly proud of everything our children have accomplished and look forward to welcoming you to celebrate their successes with us. You will also be able to enjoy some food with your child served by Nourish out school caterers.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep everyone safe, happy, and ready to enjoy the final weeks of the summer term!
Message from Head of School
Phew! It has been quite a week.
I’d like to thank staff for all of their efforts this week to keep children cool and engaged. I am sorry we weren’t able to run the trips we’d planned, although the children did enjoy a picnic instead. Lots of things coming up in the week ahead. Please do have a good look at the list of dates below.
The Festival of Us is coming up fast, it would be great to have a range of food from a variety of countries to share as we did last time. If you are able to provide something please do let me know.
Have a good weekend.

Treasure Island
Pupils and staff were delighted to welcome M&M Productions to school for a fantastic live performance of Treasure Island.
The talented cast brought the classic adventure story to life with an engaging and energetic performance, taking us on a thrilling journey across the seas in search of hidden treasure. From daring pirates and mysterious maps to exciting twists and turns, the production captivated audiences from start to finish.
The interactive nature of the show encouraged plenty of participation, laughter and enthusiasm from our pupils, who thoroughly enjoyed becoming part of the adventure. The performers’ creativity, humour and storytelling helped make this a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Live theatre provides a wonderful opportunity for children to experience literature in a new and exciting way, inspiring imagination and fostering a love of stories and the performing arts.
We would like to thank M&M Productions for delivering such an entertaining and professional performance. It was a truly enjoyable experience and one that our pupils will remember for a long time.
Boys’ Night
A huge thank you to our wonderful parents for organising Boys’ Night! Here they are enjoying all the fantastic activities. It was a brilliant evening filled with fun, laughter and great memories. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a special event! 💙🎉
Parent Governor Election
Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent Parent Governor election.
We are pleased to announce that the voting process has now been completed and Tahlia Simpson has been elected as Parent Governor and will join the Governing Board with immediate effect.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks Georgie Gilbert for their interest in supporting the school and for their willingness to contribute to the important work of the Governing Board.
We are also grateful to all parents and carers who took the time to cast their vote. Your participation helps ensure that the parent community continues to play an active role in the life and future direction of the school.
Please join us in congratulating Tahlia Simpson on their election. We look forward to working with them as part of the Governing Board.
Achievements
Jacob in Year 5 looks set to be a professional poet when he starts work ( Although he is determined to be a Premier League footballer…) An amazing poem, with powerful use of language. Well done Jacob!
Amelia in Year 1 has created the most fabulous pencil drawing of a fish! We absolutely love your fish, Amelia. The detail, care and creativity you’ve shown are fantastic, and your artistic skills are amazing. You should be so proud of your beautiful artwork 🐟🎨👏
Litter Pick
Pupils from Year 5 & 6 joined local Councillor’s Oana Olaru and Andre Bourne collecting litter from the park. We managed to gather 10 bags in an hour, a mix of cans, plastic as well as some clothes. Several items will need the Council to collect. We talked about the environment, pollution and agreed a small number of lazy people make things less attractive for the rest of us.
Office Opening Times
The office opening hours are 8.45am – 12.15pm and 3.15pm to 4pm.
If you have an appointment for your child/ren in the afternoon and they require collecting from school before the end of the day, this needs to have been communicated with the school and evidence provided prior to 12.15 on the day of the appointment, so that the information is passed on to the class teacher. The class teacher is then able to ensure that the child is ready for collection at the given time. Parents will not be able to call in to the school office and collect a child without prior notice, unless it is an absoloute emergency.
Important update – holiday free school meal voucher scheme
We would like to share an important update from Lewisham Council regarding the Holiday Free School Meal (FSM) Voucher Scheme.
The FSM voucher scheme has provided valuable financial support to eligible families during school holidays and was funded through the Government’s Household Support Fund. Although this funding ended on 31 March 2026, Lewisham Council was able to continue providing vouchers for the Easter and May half-term holidays.
Unfortunately, from this summer holiday onwards, holiday FSM vouchers will no longer be available. This is not a decision made by Lewisham Council, nor one that they wanted to make. The national funding that supported the scheme has now ended, and the council has extended the programme for as long as possible.
We understand that this news may be disappointing for many families. Lewisham Council would like to reassure parents and carers that a range of other support services remains available to families across the borough.
Please see the information below for details of the support that can be accessed.
Arbor – UPDATE
We’re making it easier for both staff and parents to pay by card in Arbor. Whether you or your parents are topping up an account, purchasing an item from the school shop, or paying for a trip – you’ll now be able to enter and save your card details, and pay by Apple or Google Pay on your desktop.
When entering card details in the MIS or Parent Portal, you’ll be taken to a new, more intuitive page (powered by ultra-secure Stripe). Simply follow the instructions and you’ll be taken back to the MIS and/or Parent Portal once your transaction is complete.
To learn more, head to our Help Centre
Later this month, we’ll be making similar improvements to paying by card in the Arbor Parent App. We’ll be in touch soon with more details on the Parent App specific updates.
Arbor – Parent Portal Reminder
Thank you to everyone who has reviewed their consent preferences on Arbor for local trips and photographs. Photo consent is now COMPLETE, we are waiting on a few more trip consents and will be giving you a call.
Thank you very much for your support.
