Message from Exec. Headteacher

Where has that ½ term gone!   I feel like we’ve only just welcomed the children back to school and all of a sudden we are back to dark mornings and early evenings.

The children have worked hard this term and learnt so much making great progress towards their targets.    Thank you to all of those parents who came to parents evening, it is great to see the engagement in the children’s learning and to be able to share the progress that they are making.

I would like to wish you all a restful and enjoyable break and please remember when we come back that the children will now be in school until 3.30pm every Friday!   More learning time for the children.

Message from Head of School

Term one done and dusted already.  Seven incredibly busy weeks since the summer break with a huge amount of learning taking place and a host of visitors and events along the way.

The children have really settled well into their new year, friendships have developed, they are responding well to the higher demands and working well with the staff.

It has been lovely to welcome so many of you into school this term, for parents’ meetings, in class and at events.  We are keen to see you all at some point, although recognise this can be tricky for some with working hours.

It would be great during the half-term holiday for as many children as possible to take part in our reading challenge; please do also encourage your children to have a go on Times Table Rockstars, share a book and don’t forget to have fun!

Don’t forget that on Fridays after half term school will continue until 3.30.

If you have any spare Christmas decorations, we are making a collection.  I know many people will be turning their attention to gift buying in the next few weeks.  If you are buying online, can I encourage you to support us by accessing sites like Amazon via https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk and choosing Oakbridge for your donations.

Next term and the run up to Christmas will be as hectic as usual.  Until then, enjoy the holidays and see you all smart, with PE kit and raring to go on Monday 6th November.

Message from Revd Stuart Leck

On behalf of the Food Project please pass on our thanks to the Rangefield School Community for the generous donations provided at the Harvest assemblies.

The food and toiletries will be used to support individuals and families in our local community who are struggling due to the current economic environment in which we
are all living. It was also a pleasure to take the assemblies and the children engaged very well with the themes that we thought about – gratitude for our food and drink, to be good stewards of all that we have been given and to share so all have sufficient to eat and drink.

Tola Okogwu visits Rangefield!

Rangefield had a special visit from famous author Tola Okogwu today! She taught us all about writing books and creating our own worlds. We learned that she was inspired by her own husband and daughter to write her first book – Daddy do my hair and her famous Onyeka series (which is going to become a series on Netflix) was inspired by her own journey through life. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us Tola!

Mum’s and Dad’s Events

On Wednesday and Thursday last week we welcomed many of our parents and carers into school to take part in various autumn themed activities with their children. It was great to see so many attend and enjoy getting involved.

Thank you to the Learning Mentors for organising and hosting this lovely event.

Please do read with them if they are unable to manage this independently, all money raised is due in on Monday 6th November.

ensure you ring the school attendance line

School Dinners

Just a quick reminder to let the school office know if you would like your child to switch from packed lunch to school dinner after half term. School dinners are free to all of our children for this academic year.

Scroll down to the ‘quick links’ section below to read the latest school meals menu.  Children can change from packed lunch to school dinners at the beginning of every half term, again please see our website for further information, www.rangefield.co.uk/school-dinners
