This service includes reporting of non-urgent repairs, checking rent balance and other account details; plus enquiries, ordering payment cards, etc. Repairs As well as the call centre and online portal, non-urgent repairs can be reported via onlinerepairs@lewisham.gov.uk. Email reports should include resident name, property address, contact details, description of the problem and ideally photographs. Out-of-hours/ emergency repairs service The repairs contact centre offers an emergency only service outside normal office hours via the 0800 028 2028 number. (Callers with non-emergency repairs will be asked to call back in office hours.)     Temporary accommodation enquiries
    Lewisham Council may provide temporary accommodation in our own hostels or buildings managed by us; bed and breakfasts/hotels; flats/houses leased from private landlords; properties provided by charities and other social landlords.

Repairs: call 0800 028 2028 (option 1) Properties managed by an agency or other landlord Contact the Tenancy Management and Resettlement team on 0808 178 0939 (option 3, then option 2) or email TA.MgmtandResettlement@lewisham.gov.uk. Repairs: report to the managing agent of the property in question or request assistance from the Tenancy Management and Resettlement team.     Homelessness/housing emergencies Homeless or at risk of becoming homeless Call 0808 178 0939, Mon-Fri 9am-5.30pm. Our advisors will need to speak to the person to assess their situation and needs. This number is available 24/7 but please only call outside office hours for emergency housing situations. Duty to refer If you represent a public organisation you can make a referral via lewisham.gov.uk/duty-to-refer or dtr@lewisham.gov.uk. The person being referred must consent to the referral. Nowhere to sleep tonight If the person you are referring has nowhere to sleep tonight, you can report a housing emergency 24/7 on 0808 178 0939. (Please note that outside office hours this number should only be used for emergencies.) Domestic violence If you suspect immediate risk of domestic violence, call the police. For more advice call the national domestic abuse helpline on 0808 2000 247. The Sanctuary scheme supports victims of domestic abuse to safely remain in their homes through provision of enhanced security measures: lewisham_sanctuary@refuge.org.uk Rough sleeping If the person you’re referring is sleeping rough, tell Streetlink via thestreetlink.org.uk, and they will pass on their details to the nearest rough sleeping outreach team.

    Social housing applications
    To apply for social housing, residents must complete a pre-assessment questionnaire via http://www.lewishamfindyourhome.org.uk/register.
    There is a severe shortage of social housing in the borough and prospective applicants should be advised to consider all other housing options first. Those with urgent or complex needs are prioritised.     Private sector housing
    Most privately rented properties in the borough require a licence which outline tenant and landlord rights and responsibilities. Landlords operating without a licence, or breaching their licence conditions, could be prosecuted and fined.

    No recourse to public funds
    If you are concerned about a homeless family with children under 18 without recourse to public funds, send a referral to the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) via lewisham.gov.uk/mash or call 0208 314 6660 (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm)
    If you are concerned about an adult with extensive support needs/ vulnerability who has no recourse to public funds, you can send a referral to Adult Social Care via gateway@lewisham.gov.uk for an assessment under the Care Act.
