Message from Head of School
I hope you are all well as we round out the 4th week of our vibrant Autumn Term! The energy in the school continues to be fantastic, and I must start by celebrating the sheer quality of work I’ve seen in the classrooms. It has been an absolute delight to look through the children’s books and witness the effort, pride, and progress they are showing—from detailed reasoning in maths to the imaginative story writing pouring out of their English lessons. The pride they take in their learning is evident on every page.
This week and last, we were particularly pleased to see the curriculum brought to life outside the classroom. It is always a pleasure to see our classes heading out on school trips and welcoming inspiring visitors into Forster Park. Our Year 3 pupils enjoyed a wonderful, educational trip to the Horniman Museum, bringing their history topics to life with real-world context.
In school, the creativity continued with fantastic drama workshops in our EYFS and Key Stage 1 classes, that revolved around the captivating themes of Castles, Knights, and Princesses, sparking historical role-play and creative writing across the year groups.
Most excitingly, a huge congratulations must go to our pupils in Year 4 and 5, who have spent time filming with the National Trust! This project is a wonderful acknowledgement of our commitment to environmental learning; the National Trust is producing a video that showcases our school’s vital work with the Street Trees for Living charity and highlights the incredible development of our very own Forest School area. It’s brilliant to see their dedication to nature being recognised on a national level!
These memorable experiences truly enrich the quality of education we offer, and I am incredibly proud of every child’s enthusiasm so far this term.
A quick reminder, before I wish you all a lovely weekend, please remember we are now collecting for our Harvest Offer, please could you bring any non-perishable food item(s) by Friday 10th October. All donations will be greatly appreciated by our local foodbank.

Drama4ALL Workshop
We were very pleased to receive a visit from Perform on Thursday 25th September. The children had a wonderful time exploring the theme of Castles, Knights and Princesses and using drama, dance and singing to help develop their confidence, concentration and social skills.
To complement the workshop, there is a free educational app for iPhones and iPads based around the theme of Castles, Knights and Princesses. Achievements
Alice Hartwell (Year 5 Falcon) has animated building her new mincraft lego set. It took her over an hour and made it all in one go. Alice used the tablet she won as last term’s attendance prize using the stop motion studio app, shooting 10 images for every 1 second of video. She has also animated sylvanian families toys and felt farm animals.
Well done to Alice from everyone at Forster Park – what an amazing skill you have!

Black History Month Story Telling Workshop
Next month, as part of our Black History Month celebrations, the whole school will have a storytelling workshop in school on Thursday 9th October 2025.
Children will meet and work with author, Wendy Shearer, throughout the day.
I am sure the children will enjoy hearing the traditional tales and incorporating these into future learning.
The cost of the workshop is £2 per child which will be payable on Parent Pay, which is payable by Monday 6th October 2025.

Spooky Discos
We are excited to announce that we will be holding a Spooky Disco on Tuesday 21st of October. The cost of the tickets will be £2.50 which you will be able to pay on parent pay. This will include a drink a snack.
The children can bring a costume or a change of clothes in with them in a bag (please make sure that the bag is labelled) on the day.
Reception, years 1 and 2 will be held from 1.30pm – 2.30pm and children will be collected from their class and returned for home time.
Years 3 and 4 will be held from 2.30pm – 3.30pm and the children will be taken to the back gate for collection.
Years 5 and 6 will be held from 3.30pm to 4.30pm and the children will be taken to the back gate for collection.
We hope to have a Spooktacular time!
