Message from Exec. Headteacher

The academic year is running away with us quickly.   The children are settled in well and much learning has already taken place.  It has been lovely to go into classes and see the children enjoying their learning and focussed, they are all working extremely hard.

It is Parents’ Evening on 23rd and 24th October and this is a chance for you to hear all about the great work your children have achieved.   The teachers would really like to see every parent of children in their classes as it is a chance to share success but also how you and we can work together to support them even further.     It would be amazing to have 100% parent attendance for Parents’ Evening this year and I am sure that you will all gain much from it.  It is your time to ask questions, whether you are concerned about any aspect or unsure about the way your children are learning a particular concept.   If you want to come with questions already written down, then the teachers will be only too happy to help, no question is a silly question and can only support your children.  Parental engagement is a high priority for us at Forster Park and we very much look forward to seeing you all.  To book your time slot follow the instructions further down the newsletter.  Mrs Fenniche

Message from Head of School

The weather is certainly starting to feel a little chillier this week, but I must say I’m thankful to see the sunshine today!

I have really enjoyed looking through the children’s books this week, myself and Ms Lesiecka spent time looking at a range of books across the school and were thoroughly impressed with all that we saw and read.

The children are really showing how much they’re enjoying their learning to date.

Parent teacher meetings:  I am sure this is something you will echo when you have a chance to see their books in the upcoming Parent teacher meetings. As we have put within the letter these meetings are an opportunity for parents and carers to talk about how your child has settled into their new year group with a focus on their current achievements and next steps in reading, writing and maths. Please ensure that you book an appointment via the online booking platform.

On the week of the meetings, we will be sending out a Parental Questionnaire, please could I ask that these are filled. It is important that we understand how families are feeling about the school and ways in which we can work together to continue to make our provision even better.

Pupil Homework:  One thing that has been brought up before from parents is the homework choices the children are given. More information around what to expect for homework within each of our year groups will be going out at the end of this week. I do hope that the clarity and expectations shared within this will continue to support our children’s learning and engagement whilst at home.

Pupil achievements:  Please do continue to send in photos and information about any particular achievements your child gains, outside school.  It is such a highlight of my week when the children are able to share their successes with me and in celebration assembly.  It is important to all the staff that we learn more about what they achieve outside of school.

Finally, I wish you all a wonderful weekend, hoping you are able to spend some special time as a family.

Mr Bond

Skeletons

In Year 3 and 4 we have been learning all about the human skeleton in Science. The children studied the skeleton and then we decided to become skeletons ourselves! We worked in pairs to feel where our bones were and covered our uniforms with masking tape to mark where they were in the body! We had lots of fun and were able to label all of the bones afterwards.

Lost Property

Please remember to label your children’s clothes, we can then easily return them to you.  All un-labelled items will next be on display in the school playground on Friday, 18th October.
